How much you earn

The current minimum wage (2015) in New Zealand is NZ$14.74 per hour, i.e. NZ118 for an 8-hour day. As an exchange student with permission to work up to 20 hours per week, you can earn up to NZ$295 per week during term time if you are on a minimum wage, or pay commensurate to the hours worked, during holiday periods.

In New Zealand, wages are generally paid weekly, or sometimes every two weeks, but obviously this will depend on the employer, and the job you are doing.
